PILATES
The original technique was developed by Joseph Pilates in 1925. 
The teachings of Pilates focus on strengthening the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and provide support for the spine. Pilates exercises improve awareness of breath and alignment of the spine and strengthen the deep torso and abdominal muscles. The body becomes more flexible, gains muscles which protect from postural deviation and provide the support one needs in daily life. Equally supportive for athletes to prevent injuries.
At Bien Être we are certified in Basi Pilates. The BASI Block System is a specialized ‘filing’ system for the hundreds of exercises in the Pilates repertoire. It categorizes them in a logical sequence that ensures the progressive structuring of classes within a flexible framework. This system is the foundation of the BASI methodology.

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®  Method was created by Romanian-born Hungarian Juliu Horvath. The Gyrokinesis Method is a modality method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. The fluidity and intense breathing reconnects the body and mind, relaxes and equally stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of calm, wellbeing and clarity. It is an original, and unique movement practice which has roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, Gymnastics, and Dance.  

Classes are tailored to fit anyone's ability. The Gyrokinesis method is practiced by all kinds of people including accomplished athletes and dancers, mums and dads, students, elderly and people with disabilities.

The "be ballerina" class is an artistic form of training with music. Graceful like a ballerina,  train like an athlete, dance like nobody is watching ! The class was created by the founder Vanessa who was a professional ballet dancer for 15 years. The training is the barre and combination on mat.

We focus on exercises which form and shape a lean, toned body with more flexibility ultimately evolving in a beautiful posture.
